Dear Marmam Community,

Here below is a direct link to our most recent American Cetacean Society (ACS) ‘Whalewatcher' Journal, special issue titled: “Right Whales at Risk”:

 https://acs.memberclicks.net/assets/Whalewatchers/Whalewatcher-2021-final.pdf

This special edition’s guest editor: Peter Corkeron, Ph.D.

Peter, the Senior Scientist and Chair of the Kraus Marine Mammal Conservation Program of the Anderson Cabot Center for Ocean Life at The New England Aquarium brought together 14 expert scientists and biologists to contribute articles and photographs for this special issue! While the focus is much on the endangered North Atlantic right whale (Eubalaena glacialis), we have included important articles highlighting the plight and current status of the Southern right whale (Eubalaena australis), and the lesser-known and endangered, North Pacific right whale (Eubalaena japonica).

while the printed journal is a premium for our ACS members (join today at www.acsonline.org/membership to receive a hard copy), we appreciate the wider interest in this special issue and believe it important to make this available to the public at large.

Our gratitude to Peter Corkeron, The New England Aquarium, and all the phenomenal scientists and biologists who contributed to this right whale issue.

If you have specific questions for us, you can contact us acsoffice at acsonline, or reach out to ACS president Uko Gorter at uko at ukogorter.com

Enjoy reading, and help save the right whales!

Cheers,
Kelsey Stone (ACS Social Media Manager and Board Member)
