[MARMAM] scientific training opportunity on bottlenose dolphin research (Italy)

*We are pleased to announce weekly scientific training opportunity from
June to September 2017 in Agrigento, Sicily Channel, Italy.*


-        *Boat- land based surveys *

-        *Record effort tracks by GPS and compilation of survey sheet *

-        *Compilation of sighting sheet (cetaceans and other marine
species, including turtle, tuna, swordfish and seabirds during sea-survey)*

-        *Photo-identification activity*


-        *Dolphins distribution and habitat use model **using GIS software*

-        *Group size and behaviour data analysis *

-  * Analysis** on interaction between dolphins and human activities
(mainly fishing activities) and ethological investigations related.*

*Occasionally it could happen to take action in stranding events.*

*Summer Research Expeditions are essential to support research projects. It
does not require any specific preparation, nor scientific or nautical
experiences are required to participants: you only need spirit of
adaptation and enthusiasm.*

*The "Associazione Me.Ri.S. Mediterraneo Ricerca e Sviluppo" is a no-profit
and apolitical Organisation for the protection of marine mammals and their
environment. It is engaged in research activities on cetaceans in the
Sicily Channel (Mediterranean Sea). Me.Ri.S. starts focusing its researches
on bottlenose dolphin population inhabiting the water off Agrigento
Province (Mediterranean Sea). It promotes educational activities and
