Fellow Marmam users,
The Adelaide Dolphin Sanctuary (ADS) is 118 square kilometres, and is located along the eastern shore of Gulf St Vincent. It includes the Port Adelaide River and Barker Inlet and is home to an estimated 30 or more resident Indo-pacific bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops aduncus), with some 300 more dolphins thought to visit the area.
The ADS is seeking any research (either published or unpublished) on vessel strikes on bottlenose dolphins or similar species. The information required would be focusing on recreational vessels to see wether there is a real or perceived issue of boat strike on dolphins and be used in assisting the day to day management of the Adelaide Dolphin Sanctuary.
Any information on this can be sent to Rob Laver email :mailto:laver.robert at saugov.sa.gov.au
