I presume this engaging feature in two parts on Al Jazeera TV is one with
which participants on the ILDS list are familiar.

It captures many aspects of the Alexandria of Cavafy, Forster and Durrell
and there is a passing mention of these three writers in the documentary
which portrays the years leading up to that period.

The visuals with retrospective photographs in black and white and scenes
from present day Alexandria evoke in particular the temporal course of
Greeks in Alexandria in the cosmopolitan world of the city during the 19th
and 20th centuries leading up to Nasser and beyond.

There may be other films on Alexandria or films set in Alexandria and it
would be interesting to know about them.

Best wishes
