campaign trail to be re-elected to that position, husband of singer-actress
Carla Bruni, sits in a comfortable seat on an airplane returning to France
from a visit to Argentina. What is he reading? *Quatuor d'Alexandrie* by
Lawrence Durrell (that is, a translation of LD's work, which isn't the same
thing as reading LD).
