I'm very pleased to announce the publication of a new book in Durrell studies.  /From the Elephant's Back/ (Pref. Peter Baldwin, Ed. James
Gifford) is now released from the University of Alberta Press -- as many of you know, this baby elephant had a long gestation and many, many complications, but it's finally out in the world.

The collection consists of 38 previously unpublished and out-of-print essays and letters by Durrell, a preface & introduction, and annotations.  Have you ever read Durrell's travel writing about Yugoslavia?  His UNESCO lectures on Shakespeare?  Letters to Tambimuttu and Potocki?  They're now available.
