Hello all,

I'll start the hunt after classes today, but I seem to recall looking 
for this same quotation earlier, a couple of years ago, and being 
unsuccessful.  It strikes my ear as something Durrell might say in an 
interview to put the interviewer off the trail...  He says many odd 
things in interviews, and when the audio is available, it sounds like 
too much tongue in cheek to not have some mumbling.

I'm very sorry to hear about the loss of your collection!
