[ilds] Judith

I am particularly interested in hearing Rony's reactions to the showing of the film "Judith" in Haifa, as I am working on a paper using the School of Corfu version, published as a novel . So please, Rony, send us your feedback as well as that of the Israeli audience.
I read the novel when it came out in 2012; this is not one of Durrell's great pieces of writing, but it contains a number of Durrell trademarks that he honed so well in the AQ and gives us a more overt look at the politics of the region that swirled around the AQ.

It bears repeating that Richard Pine produced a version of the screenplay of Judith with long introduction.  Very useful.  It was published by The Durrell School of Corfu in 2012 and by Open Road in the U.S. also in 2012.  It?s always interesting to see what Durrell intended and what the director/producers finally ?created.?

Indeed, the Judith book is worth reading!  A small quibble -- the text
is predominantly from the novella draft Durrell did, which can also be
pieced together from /Woman's Own/.  I haven't seen the screenplay text.

There were indeed changes, and it's also telling that Durrell set the
novella aside at that specific historical moment in time, though it also
coincides with Claude's death as well.

Claude's novel /A Chair for the Prophet/ is also telling since it shows
the degree to which their fingerprints are all over each other's books.
