I would like to thank the editors of ILDS Herald for acknowledging the ABC program Lawrence Durrell and Henry Miller: a Wartime Correspondence, which I scripted and helped produced with Lyn Gallacher earlier this year. The program was my first foray into radio journalism and I hope it will not be the last. Thanks also to Charles Sligh for putting me in touch with Ian MacNiven, Michael Haag and Joanna Hodgkin, who were all wonderful interviewees and wrote back favourably to me about the program. Ian has invited me to Athens NY for some local beer and I am sure that one day I will find Michael's literary bunker somewhere in London. I had been trying for some time to get a program out about Larry and with luck a draft manuscript landed on Lyn's desk and we met and she said "do it!" And so it goes..

Cheers for Christmas and the New Year

David
