I confirm that this is a reprint of the 2004 Ashgate edition,
published under licence from Ashgate. Under the terms of the contract
with Ashgate it is only for sale in Egypt, Bahrain, Iran, Iraq,
Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar,
Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates and
Yemen; and is not for export. This explains Bill's problem in getting
a copy from the publishers. I have a copy, but I bought it in a
bookshop in Egypt. It is very much cheaper than the Ashgate edition
hence the restriction on sale. (My copy cost me approximately 15 GBP;
and the current list price is 120 Egyptian Pounds or 27.50 USD),
The AUCP edition differs only from the original edition on the half
title, title page and copyright page, and in having a different cover
design and being a paperback. There is an error on the copyright page
attributing copyright to Ashgate (instead of Anthony Hirst and
Michael Silk). Here are the publication details from the copyright
page (the size is omitted):

The ISBN on the publisher's website is slightly different. Go to
<www.aucpress.com> and search for "hirst".
A paperback reprint from Ashgate has been long promised but has yet
to materialize. The hardback sold out long ago. Several copies are
available on Amazon but at horrendous prices.
