London night,  grey and submissive,
A pain in no mans land.
Rain whispered silence...
A cigarette burning;
smooth smoke, warm and soothing.
what do you want ?
A mad fox dicing chicken livered hypocrites?

No! not tonight.

Tonight I read to Greece
To Octopus bubbling in wine sauce
On days hot with cicadas
High and blue above the upturned Ionian,
Above Kalamai 
The pebbled green translucents 
Lapping sea sucked stone.
A world, Corcyra!
