Writer Albert Cossery, whom Durrell met in Egypt in 1944 or 1945, died June 22 in Paris.  According to Ian's biography, Durrell sent a translation of Cossery's collection of stories /Men God Forgot/ to Henry Miller, whose praise for the writer appears on the back of the 1963 City Lights edition.  Ian notes that "Cossery was a strange figure, and he would remain an outsider, beyond Larry's regular circle of friends."  Grove Koger
