[Pamela Francis]

Elizabeth David was living in Cairo at the same time as LD, and she was apparently sleeping with Olivia Manning's husband. Artemis Cooper has written a fairly thorough bio of her, and she is mentioned in Cooper's Cairo in the War. Hope that helps--pamela

Last night on TV I watched a tele movie about the 
food writer Elizabeth David. It would appear from subsequent research that she 
knew LD. Can anyone elaborate on this?
 
Norman Douglas featured also and appears to have 
been a fascinating chap and quite an influence on the young LD. Sounds worth a 
read?
