When he turns to the question of naming the nameless child, the narrator 
says: 

        Of course it will be Justine--who else? (1.7)


Why "of course"?  What does the choice tell us about the narrator?  Like 
"lovely Thérèse," at this early point in /Justine/, the reader really 
has precious little information with which to "combat that one."

Begging the question--
