The Cognition and Brain Science Seminar (CaBSSem) next meets TODAY at 3:00pm in the Psychology Reading Room (Cornett A228) featuring Dr. Michael Masson speaking on "Visualizing Repeated-Measures Data: Frequentist and Bayesian Approaches" (abstract below).

Many attend FTF, but we also livestream sessions at

Hope to see you this afternoon!

Visualizing Repeated-Measures Data: Frequentist and Bayesian Approaches

A very useful companion to significance testing and to Bayesian model-testing is graphical representation of data. Repeated-measures (within-subjects) designs present a special challenge to visualization of results such as comparing condition means. Design-appropriate confidence intervals (frequentist method) and credible intervals (Bayesian method) offer an ideal solution to this problem and can be linked in straightforward ways to the results of significance tests and Bayesian model-testing, respectively. These methods will be reviewed, including an R package for computing Bayesian credible intervals.
