About UvicFairVote	English (USA)
This club is affiliated with the local chapter of Fair Vote Canada. It's purpose is to help promote electoral reform that is citizen-driven (rather than politician-driven). A fair voting system is one in which your vote *always* elects someone, party representation is proportional to party popularity, and local representation is rewarded, not punished (as it is in our current system). A citizen-driven process for electoral reform is one where citizen consultations are binding on the government, such as was done with BC's recent Citizens' Assembly, and where decisions on electoral reform are taken to the people through simple majority referenda. Using UvicFairVote
To post a message to all the list members, send email to uvicfairvote@lists.uvic.ca. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.
Subscribing to UvicFairVote
Subscribe to UvicFairVote by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. This is a hidden list, which means that the list of members is available only to the list administrator. Your email address:   Your name (optional):   You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext. If you choose not to enter a password, one will be automatically generated for you, and it will be sent to you once you've confirmed your subscription.
